Some Funk for ya…
Well folks I’ve found a new love: playing improvised funky dance music.
Actually this isn’t so new of a love. I remember when I first got my electric guitar and would spend hours playing along to Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn. This music opened me up and it’s doing it again.
We played a funk show at Fresh Thymes in Boulder this summer and I was reconnected to this joyful funky energy. Here’s some recordings from the show for your listening pleasure.

Singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist William Sage was born and raised in the Beaches area of East Toronto, Canada. He started composing on piano as soon as he was tall enough to reach the keys. Over the last few decades he expanded his musical expression to other instruments like guitar, guitelele, bass, percussion, and handpan, as well as software instruments in Ableton and Mainstage.
William's musical odyssey has taken him all over the world, from performing along side Grammy Award winning artists in New York City to pop-up concerts in Black Rock City. From Bali to Boulder, from Nicaragua to China his mission has remained the same: to connect with life through the portal of music.
Will writes ballads and missives from the heart to connect us with our vulnerable selves: His love songs bring us together, while his instrumental tracks take us inside to discover new realms of understanding and compassion.
In 2020 Will launched SoulBloom a project consisting of improvised music for deep connection. Whether you are connecting to self through meditation or psychedelic therapy, or to your work, or just hanging with friends like a compassionate host or guide, SoulBloom grabs the moment and accompanies you through it.
